Abstract
The aim of the work described is to develop a mechanism capable of bringing a blast nozzle into the converter and retaining it above the pouring point by converter rotation and abatement of the steel level. Based on a combination of optimization and approximation methods, a computational procedure to synthesize an adjustable four-bar mechanism to generate a set of arc trajectories is described.<>
