Abstract
With the method of principal components analysis, the paper establishes highway transportation development exponent and economy development exponent successfully, which can represent the historic status, current status and future trends of highway transportation and economy development respectively. This shows it is feasible to express the development of highway transportation and economy with the two exponents. Moreover, the paper makes quantitative analysis to research the relationship between highway transportation and economy. As a result, we establish a mathematical model to show the quantitative relation between them.
