Abstract
The paper describes the techniques for using object oriented methodologies for modeling and simulation of process plants and their control systems employing discrete logic controls. Based on this approach, an object oriented application framework has been developed using C++. As a case study, a fluid flow control system for a chemical process plant has been implemented using the framework. It was found to be easy to implement and modify. The techniques described in the paper may be reused in similar problems.
