Abstract :
Lidar remote sensing is up to now the only technique capable of detecting water column temperature. This technique is based on the analysis of the water Raman spectrum. A significant improvement can be achieved with the introduction of high spectral resolution lidar systems. For this purpose, a method for water column temperature determination has been investigated in the laboratory in view of the lidar application. Moreover, field experiments have been carried out with a high spectral resolution fluorescence lidar
