Abstract
The dyadic Green´s functions for inhomogeneously filled waveguides with arbitrary inhomogeneity have been analyzed previously. The analysis is based on an orthogonality relation which is not valid for complex modes. The eigenfunction expansion previously derived is not complete. The authors present a rigorous approach for the determination of the electromagnetic field excited by given electric and magnetic current sources inside an inhomogeneously filled waveguide with arbitrarily shaped cross section and arbitrary inhomogeneity of the filling medium. This problem is completely equivalent to that of determining the guide´s electric and magnetic Green´s functions.<>
