Abstract
An eigen-weighted BIEM (boundary-integral-equation method) with boundary bases is studied and applied to the waveguide problem. Like the modified boundary-element method (MBEM), the eigen-weighted BIEM introduces a fictitious regular boundary and a set of eigenfunctions that satisfy the boundary condition. It thus has the advantages of the MBEM, but the weighting of the eigenfunction involves only one term rather than an infinite series, so the computation is simpler. Some numerical examples for a hollow waveguide verify the effectiveness of the eigen-weighted BIEM, which can be extended to inhomogeneous and open waveguides.<>
