Abstract :
Because of the features of HAPs networks, TCP performance is challenged. In order to solve the TCP problems, optimization of TCP is researched in this paper. An optimized TCP for HAPs network (TCP-HAP) is proposed. It consists of three mechanisms which are rapid congestion notification, reason of packet loss recognition and traffic oriented congestion control. In TCP-HAP, the congestion message is sent to the source by the congestion node as soon as congestion occurs to alleviate congestion immediately. The source can distinguish the reason of packet loss and avoid frequent congestion window decrease caused by high BER. And TCP-HAP can decrease the congestion window by different methods according to the traffic types. The simulation results show that TCP-HAP can improve the TCP performance in HAPs network.
