Abstract :
The authors recently simulated a corrugated structure using metallic strips on a dielectric sheet, which produced effects equivalent to those of perfectly blazed rectangular corrugations. Reflection measurements were carried out at X-band. The backscattered power was measured utilizing the magic-tee analog cancellation technique. The received power from the strip grating is compared to that from a plane metallic plate. The behavior of the strip grating with reflector for special orders n=0 and n=1 is shown. The minimum dielectric thickness of the strip grating is further reduced using a dual-periodic system. The bandwidth of effective elimination of specular reflection is increased considerably for the dual-period grating system.<>
