Abstract :
Summary form only given. The presentation introduces robust, adaptive and output feedback-based flight control architectures applied to various aerial platforms. We begin by covering aircraft models that encompass flight dynamics, models for control design, subsystem models (including actuators, air data system and sensors), atmospheric disturbances and system uncertainty. Control design and analysis requirements for manned, unmanned and dual-mode aircraft are reviewed. Control architectures and design methods are briefly covered from the perspective of advantages and challenges they present specifically for flight control design, focusing on recent output feedback architecture developments. We will briefly touch on recent flight test applications, and in addition present a discussion of the vision and future challenges associated with the design approaches. Additional specific application examples will be presented in the following session presentations.
