Abstract :
The onset of convection of a plane layer of nonpolar liquid subjected to an electric field is examined. Dissociation of ions in the bulk of the fluid and injection of charge at one of the electrodes have been considered. Both processes are modeled by means of field-dependent laws that are applicable in a large variety of nonpolar liquids
