Abstract :
The generation of coherent UV light by high-quality CLBO (CsLiB/sub 6/O/sub 10/) is described. The performance this solid-state UV light source with NLO crystals can be further enhanced when thermal dephasing is alleviated and the surface resistance against laser-induced damages is enhanced. In particular, CLBO showed long-term stability as evidenced where UV radiation from CLBO is used for pulsed-laser deposition with promising reliability and stability.
