Abstract :
We are witnessing a very interesting moment when undersea transmission technology coupled with attractive business case and availability of enabling technologies can be applied in the emerging terrestrial data centric networks. We experimentally demonstrated that extreme 10 Gb/s transmission distances over 7500 km can be achieved in the terrestrial networks with sufficient margin for the real field deployment.
