Abstract :
We present a new diversity receiver that provides significant performance improvement compared to direct detection. By incorporating active electronics into its structure, we show further performance improvements can be achieved and the intersymbol interference (ISI) due to polarisation mode dispersion (PMD) can be further reduced.
