Abstract
Summary form only given. Reengineering a manufacturing system consists of integrating the productive resources of a current business process so that the products made are focused on the target market and generate the expected profits. Reengineering includes the selection and description of a problematic process, the identification of a target organization, the design and cost evaluation of the organizational improvements and the follow-up of their implementations. This paper presents a macromolecular approach for reengineering a problematic process by a group of distributed experts. The originality of the macromolecular approach is the use of fuzzy cognitive maps, named intelligent reference models, for reorganizing the target organization
