  • Abstract
The basic structure of the single piston hydraulic free piston engine was introduced. And also the main working modes, such as switch between working modes, rebounding test, reposition of the piston assembly, compression and cushion, were illustrated. This paper paid great emphases on the introduction of the structures of the compression chamber and compression piston. It was indicated that the compression time to push the piston move was prolonged with the increasing of the distance between the main port and the trigger port. The increase of the length and angle of the piston wedge would reduce the compression performance, while the cushion performance would be enhanced. With the opening length increasing, the compression time to push the piston move was shorter and the compression performance is improved.
