Abstract
The ionized electric field is analyzed for high-voltage geometries. In applying the charge simulation technique (CST) for calculating the ionized electric field, the space charges were replaced by fictitious discrete charges. The locations of these charges represent singularity points, and a method is proposed for calculating the potential and electric field at those points. The method is used to analyze the ionized electric field problem in the parallel plate geometry, which has a known analytical solution. The calculated potential and field values agree very well with those obtained analytically. This supports the conclusion that CST works well in solving the ionized field problem.<>
