Abstract
FMS (Flexible manufacturing system) scheduling is the center of its management owing to the dynamic nature of the system. Besides loading and discharging cutting tools and jig & fixture, the scheduling mainly deals with these optimal questions: how to choose parts; how to group parts; how to assign the system load; how to queue up the manufacturing procedures. With the mathematical model of machining parts having been established, discussions and solutions to these optimizations are presented in the paper based on grouping technology, computer science and other novel algorithms.
