Abstract :
Traditional metro design and evaluation upon National code and Design manual is not able to contain many dynamic facts such as pedestrian traffic characters and the effects from metro operation information, which cause the difficulty to identify better design or layout arrangement from possible options. In this paper dynamic simulation method was discussed to build passenger´s movement processing model and simulate the different options by using Legion pedestrian modeling tools. Based on simulation data, maximum density map and passenger leaving time were used to evaluate the passenger service level and transportation operation effectiveness. As an example Beijing Metro Line 5 pedestrian facility arrangement design work evaluation was also described to explain the modeling procedure and prove the workability of this method.
