Abstract
A novel control principle for a parallel-resonant AC-link and parallel-resonant DC-link converter is presented. The control principle is demonstrated on an example of an AC-to-DC step-up power converter as well as an AC-to-AC power converter. Because all power switches are switched under zero-voltage conditions the switching frequency of the suggested topology can be high. Four quadrant operation can be obtained. The input phase-currents are created with a unity power factor, while the shape of the output voltages is independently controlled. The fidelity of the input currents and output voltages with respect to the references is increased for higher resonant frequencies
