Abstract :
A dual-band coaxial relativistic backward wave oscillator (RBWO) with two sets of different period of slow-wave structure (SWS) was presented and investigated in this paper. The nonlinear beam-wave interactions were analyzed and simulated with the 2.5-dimensional electromagnetic particle-in-cell (PIC) code. With electron beams of 400 kV and 17.1 kA guided by a magnetic field of 0.77 Tesla, an average power of 0.52 GW with a power conversion efficiency of 7.5% is obtained and the band frequencies are 12.3 GHz and 13.0 GHz, respectively.
