Abstract
A method for the automatic quantification of metabolic information from a 1H magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) signal is presented. The method is based on a wavelet packet (WP) decomposition of the MRS signal. The spectroscopic parameters are quantified through the linear-prediction singular value decomposition (LPSVD) method applied on the different sub-signals obtained by WP analysis. As a result, relevant metabolic information, such as the relative concentrations of metabolites, is automatically computed
