Abstract :
This paper describes the authors´ experiences in the testing process of a safety critical complex medical system, a brachytherapy treatment planning system. The authors stress the importance of testing the used algorithms by comparing their outputs with independent calculations and experimental results. The authors also discuss the role of qualification testing in finding faults in medical software
