Abstract
Spun HiBi and spun LoBi fibers for operation around 1310nm are presented to address the global demand for fiber optic current sensor and optical current transformers for new infrastructure projects and the Smart Grid. Spun HiBi fibers are shown to be able to be suitable for high accuracy current sensors whilst spun LoBi fibers are shown to be optimized for lower sensitivity sensors.
