Abstract
Results of the measurement of electric power for nonsinusoidal current inputs drawn by nonlinear loads are presented. A simulation using nonsimultaneous sampling algorithm for pure sine waveforms is also reported. The simulation consists of sampling voltage and current signals and converting each sample to a binary code by means of an analog-to-digital (A/D converter). Simulation and experimental results show good agreement. It is demonstrated that this algorithm is suitable for measuring power in power systems feeding nonlinear loads which give rise to nonsinusoidal current waveforms
