Abstract :
Polarization modulation is a combination of two phase modulations with opposite modulation indices on the TE and TM components of an optical lightwave. With the two complementary phase modulations in the polarization modulation, photonic microwave frequency multiplication, photonic microwave phase shifter, and microwave photonic delay-line filter can be realized. The polarization-modulated microwave photonic signal processing features distinguished performance, simple configuration and flexible operation.
