  • Abstract
Typically, to compute reflection coefficient, time domain signals generated by time domain programs, are compared with reference signals created in a nonreflecting structures having identical input ports. A simple alternative it proposed, based on impedance, calculated from electric and magnetic field signals generated in a single program run. A transmission line with a discontinuity is examined. The accuracy of the method is of the same order as the FDTD itself.
