Abstract :
The idle speed control is one of the most important automotive control problems. In this paper, the engine idle speed control problem comes down to optimization problem with input and state constraints. The controller using model predictive control (MPC) methodology based on linear programming is designed to regulate the engine speed. The simulation results show that the approach is an effective and promising for the engine idle speed control.
