Abstract :
Light-triggered thyristors by various manufacturers each have positive and negative characteristics, which have not been collectively compared. In order to enable such comparison, this paper proposes the figure of merit (F) for LTTs. The paper also proposes and unifies for the first time new measurement methods for LTT characteristics such as turn-off time toff, reverse recovered charge Qrr, turn-on time ton and on-state voltage VF, which are needed to calculate F. Different manufacturers´ LTTs are evaluated
