Abstract
Field experimental results of pilot symbol aided 16 QAM for land mobile communications are reported. The performance of the implemented 16 QAM is evaluated by a 50% value of bit error rate and cumulative distribution of burst error length. The results are almost the same as the ones expected from the computer simulation and laboratory experiments. These results verify that the pilot symbol aided 16 QAM is effective to achieve high spectrally efficient digital land mobile communication systems
