Abstract :
The competition of the German energy market demands a significant reduction of costs to the owners of electricity supply systems. The resulting long-term decrease of supply reliability can be partly compensated by means of modern protection equipment and the use of intelligent software. This paper discusses the fast fault location in rural MV distribution networks as an example for this innovative concept
