Abstract
This paper commences by reviewing recent legislation on the environment mainly to give an indication of the problems companies without an environmental policy could face. It then addresses the main areas of a company´s operation which can affect the environment and describes some of the approaches currently available to the electronics industry. Finally, the human factor is considered. That is, the direct effect of environmental issues on a company´s own workforce and the resultant effect on its operations
