  • Abstract
An innovative model reduction method for continuous-time systems is presented. The method is based on the Lyapunov stability theory. The procedure involves the design of Lyapunov candidates and the generation of reduced models using the bounds imposed on the solution of differential equations. The major advantage of the proposed method is that model reduction can be performed using a reliable theoretical basis. Error bounds can be readily found, and the mismatched dynamics can be used in the consequent robust design. An example is presented to demonstrate the efficiency and feasibility of the developed model reduction concept
