Abstract
This paper provides a method of modeling arable land use as contained in the monitoring information model. The model has been used as an object-oriented paradigm for the modeling arable land systems and resources for use in monitoring. The monitoring information essentially plays two roles: information associated with monitoring process, and information representing physical and logical resources subject to monitoring. The model is used to meet the needs of arable land users, providers and managers. By using the above modeling principles, it has been possible to develop a model of monitoring arable land use which is powerful and flexible enough to meet arable land use monitoring requirements.
