Abstract
A planar microstrip array antenna applied for WLAN application is successfully designed and experimentally tested at the 5 GHz (IEEE 802.11a) WLAN band. The design was experimentally verified by constructing a microstrip array on a Teflon board and measuring its radiation characteristics at WLAN band. The measured VSWR 2:1 bandwidth in the 5GHz band is 780MHz. The maximum gain of E-plane of the proposed antenna is 19.72dBi at 5.8GHz.
