Abstract
This paper gives a case study of software standardization and re-engineering practices in an embedded controller enterprise which shares the common technological obstacles to meet harsh market challenges. A three-stage project was initiated to re-engineer the legacy embedded software to improve its survivability and establish the entity´s software development standards as well. The background, objectives, process, key problems and their solutions are discussed
