Abstract
Gaussian assumption for the input to the quantizer is the key to the stochastic analysis of ΔΣ modulator. Our studies show this assumption is also reasonable for bandpass ΔΣ systems when pass-band communication signals are applied. The analysis of quantization error based on this assumption is also performed. The results suggest adding a suitable amount of dither can help the power of quantization error to achieve its minimum value
