Abstract :
Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER) was launched to promote health reform in the US. The Comparative Effectiveness Research could help clinical research and health-care decision making to reduce the healthcare cost. This paper summarizes and analyzes the progress of CER by focusing on its technical significance, methods, advantages and disadvantages. A framework using heterogeneous databases for the CER research in China is also proposed.
