Abstract
In this paper, the EMI effects of a hard-less modulation method including an algorithm to minimise the effect of nonideal behaviour of the PWM voltage inverter are presented. The modulation method is based on a space vector PWM strategy. To minimise the effect of the switch dead time, the algorithm minimises the difference between two simple adders containing the discrete times calculated and those actually sent to the inverter. This approach does not require any extra hardware for implementation, because it can be accomplished without an extra sensor, and furthermore the compensation algorithm does not add an important computation load to the controller. From some experimental results, conclusions about the EMI effects on the mains and on the motor side are presented
