Abstract
Ubiquitous Computing has the main goal of building computer systems that support and facilitate the daily lives of users, without being intrusive. This paper follows a perspective that advocates a cautious and iterative approach to the vision of Ubiquitous Computing. In this context, it is presented a system with a particular application goal, based on a proposal of a generalized infrastructure and on recognized technologies, like RFID. The system augments physical objects in an environment with the presentation, in an automatic and personalized way, of additional information to identified users. The smoothness of the system implementation lets us think that the infrastructure, targeted to a well defined type of pervasive application, is able to be gradually extended.
