Abstract :
The quasistatic effect of cloud charge neutralisation during a lightning event is considered. As a result, a smoothing function which significantly alters the lightning EM pulse (LEMP) formulations given by other authors, is derived. Such an analytical tool could be crucial in reexamining the low-frequency coupling problem
