Abstract
The IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society recognizes outstanding accomplishments of Society members with annual awards for technology and service. This year, two new awards are being presented: for career achievements and for an outstanding young engineer under 40 years of age. THE CAREER EXCELLENCE AWARD winner is Stephen F. Adam of Adam Microwave Consulting Co., Los Altos, California USA. For a professional career of more than 50 years and for extensive work in the field of microwave measurement and instrumentation. THE SOCIETY AWARD winner is Yves Rolain of Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels Belgium. For contributions to non-linear circuit technology. THE SOCIETYDISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD winner is Kim R. Fowler of Coolstream LLC, Windsor Mill, Maryland, USA. For technical and professional leadership of the Instrumentation and Measurement Society as Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of the I&M Magazine, member of the Society Administrative Committee and author and developer of technical papers and tutorials presented at sponsored conferences. THE YOUNG ENGINEER EXCELLENCE AWARD was presented to Simona Salicone of Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italy. In recognition of contributions to measurement uncertainty theory.
