Abstract
The Problem Design, random events and luck combine in order to make a success of an offshore outsourcing industry supplier. Case histories of successful offshore service providers in countries as varied as India, Ireland and the Philippines support this observation. The design, and handwork, elements do weigh heavily but random events can boost or undermine those. Even luck or the existence of a torrent of favorable wind, or hidden opportunity, may influence the process. How could those factors constitute a comparative strategic advantage? What are the drivers of the industry? How will those drivers influence industry players? Those issues will be addressed in the following article.
