Abstract
Forthcoming, all-purpose communication systems need to concurrently serve a variety of applications, each of them, probably, with different service requirements. Therefore, an integrated Quality-of-Service (QoS) management is needed. A delayed approach of QoS management is presented in some detail. Internal service interfaces are reduced to a minimum and the application is provided with a high-level application-visible service interface
