  • Abstract
    The operating conditions of hydro turbines´ have a significant influence on the safety and economic benefit for hydropower plants. In this paper, a condition monitoring system for hydro turbines based on LabVIEW is proposed. Typical measurands for hydro turbines´ condition monitoring and their respective sensors are studied and determined. The configuration and function modules of the proposed system are established and implemented. The results of the application to a Francis turbine have shown that this system helps to obtain the hydraulic turbine´s state and is promising to be a technical reference for the field engineers.
