Abstract
SaskPower staff carried out, at the planning stage, several technical studies for the 138 kV Island Falls to Points North line and the substations connected to it. Electromagnetic Transient Program (EMTP) simulation runs provided the basic information required for the analytical investigation of the various electric transient phenomena which may appear in this 138 kV line and substations SaskPower planners used the conclusions obtained from this analysis to finalize the specifications for the electrical apparatus and make recommendations concerning the allowable operating procedures
