Abstract
Concurrent transmission in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) has been the focus of research for spatial reuse due to its distributed network structure. However, radio interference between parallel links in an communication region is inevitable. Power control is widely considered to manage the interference as well as reduce total energy consumption, increase network throughput and improve wireless resource utilization. In this paper, we propose a margin-based power control method (MBPC) in wireless networks, where a modulation/coding scheme(MCS) is applied. We show that the power control method has a positive effect on the achievable value of the system´s spatial reuse factor and the realized transmission efficiency.
