Abstract
Consideration is given to the main specific features of ultra-wideband (UWB) radars and possibilities of these radars to increase essentially their own information performance. The problem of particular interest is the difference in constructions between UWB and conventional radar systems operating in a narrow frequency band. The difficulties caused by these differences when constructing UWB radars are determined. Also discussed are the ways to counter these difficulties, which makes it possible to expand the UWB radar application area and realize the advantage over conventional radar systems
