Abstract
It is important to know the profiles of partial discharge (PD) signals caused by different interior defaults in GIS and measured by outer ultra-high frequency (UHF) antenna prior to their default identifications. In this paper, four classes of typical physical models in GIS were structured and tested to produce UHF PD signals for the samples of PD identification. Furthermore, the exterior UHF PD signals are usually interfered by different environmental noise, the interference strength of which is different on site. Hence the prior knowledge of the interference strength of measured UHF PD signals is also important, an algorithm is employed to evaluate UHF PD signals and its appropriate parameters are analyzed and validated by simulation on detailed, and then the actual UHF PD signals are evaluated to their attached noise strength.
