Abstract :
Auto-tuning arc-suppression coil faces with new development requirements in smart substation. Considering the characteristics of IEC61850 protocol and communication features of smart substation as well as special functions of auto-tuning arc-suppression coil, two different designs of auto-tuning arc-suppression coil applied to smart substation are proposed in the paper. The first design is local-control of the controller with concentration layout between primary equipment and secondary equipment; The second one is remote-control of the controller while primary equipment and secondary equipment arranged separately, and the controller is divided into main control unit and intelligent measurement/control unit in this scheme. Then, the advantages and disadvantages of the two designs are deeply analyzed. In addition, the article presents the implementation of controller with function of single-phase-to-earth fault line selection.
