Abstract :
A remote sensing satellite possesses a payload as a multi-spectral imager. The processed data and its related information are transmitted to the ground station. The duration of the communication availability between the LEO satellite and ground station can be deduced according to the LEO satellite height and its orbit parameters. This communication period constitutes a critical design parameter for the choice of communication architecture, mission analysis and design of remote sensing satellites. In this paper, a proposed technique using the LEO-GEO relay communication is introduced in order to increase the communication coverage area of the LEO satellite.
